The followi-ng is from the Detroit Free Press, June 17. 1898: "Two of the cars for the Detroit Ypsilanti & Ann Arbor electric railroad arrived yesterday, ana were glven trial trips over the new road. The cars are the handsomest in this section of the country and the officers of the road say fchey are not excelled n -Ï ?sl of any eIectric -line in the United States. The new coaches are dark in color, and are 44 f eet long, by 8 feet 9 inches in width. They are fltted Iwith Freneh píate glass Windows and the seats are upholstered in plush The woodwork is of quartered oak The cara 'have all modern appliances' President J. D. Hawks states that eight others will be here as soon as tney can be flnished at the Dayton Ohio factory of the builders, The Barney & Smith Car company. The new cars will gro into commission at once "
