Frtd&y the curtain dropped i the successful '97-9S year of the Ann Ai - bor High School, the graduation exercises passing cff in the morning before the usual large audience. In the evening the alumni bnquet helo and about 150 of the old sLudentss were present. Miss Lucy Chapin, '76, acted as toastmistress. The following toasts were responded to: "Reminiscences of the High School in Times," Mrs. Philip Bach; "Hqw the Alumni Can Aid the Superintendent," VI. Slauson; "Class of Ê"T1;" Miss Anna V. Gelston; "The Perry Scholar," J. E. P.eal; "Class of '95," Miss Florence Sunderland; General Remarks (not politics), W. W. Wedemeyer; "Class of '98," Willis L. Gelston. The following officers were elecced for the ensuing year: President- J. E. Beal, '76. Vice-President - L. P. Jocelyn, '83. Corresponding Secretary - Miss Lucy Chapin, '76. Recording Secretary- Miss Alice Porto:-. '76. r- C. T. Braun, :92. The High School orchestra furnished musio for dancing, which followcd. Ii was quite au enjoya.ble affalr outside he fact that the alumni were quite late in arriving.
