It would be well for the offleers of the district schools of Washtenaw county to consider the provisions of the Graham-Forsythe Uniform Text Book bill. It will be necessary for each school district in the county which has not already done so to vote at some regular or special election before the first day of next January to adopt free text books or to remain under the present system. In default of electing to pursue one of these methods the districts will come under the uniform text book act which is essentially vicious. It means that the selection of the books will be taken out of the hands of the a hands óf the local authoríties to whom it properly belongs and be vested in a central board at Lansing. Argument is unnecessary to show that this would be a most unsatisfactory method.
