On Aug. 17 the "Washtenaw Times band will particípate in the meeting of -Michigan bands at Jackson. Last year they were conspicuous in the composite band made up of 20 diffeient ones, while all played at the same time, and were highly complimented by Jackson newspapers. Friday Miss Millie Young and Mrs. James Kimball were out driving and in some way the horse became frightened and turned, throwing the oecupants to the ground. Mrs. Kimball was severely injured irom the Lall, as she struck on her head. She was im ir.ediately taken home and is under the care of Dr. Huil, who reported Saturday that the injury will probably not prove fatal. He made 14 points out of a possible 15 at 150 yards. Brooks is a member of Co. G. Don Davis, Fred Crabbe and W Young, of a Grand Rapids company who are now at Tampa, have beer transferred to the signal corps and leave today for Santiago on the trans port Stillwater. They were formerb residents of Ypsilanti.
