Xhe man who built tho Adrián deadfall testifies that he never served an apprenticeship totho carpenter business, but learned the trade "by observation." -Charles E. Winans, one of the viotims of the Adrián grand-stand rnassacre, died Oot. 5. He carne to Adrián in 1837. This makes ló deaths in all. The wounded are most of them recovering as rapidly as can bo expected. The Chineso laundryman Luin died Oct. 6, in 25 minutes after having his leg aaiputated. - Mrs. K.te Hart, wife of Isaac V. Hart, a weil-known farmer living uear Battle Creek, was drowned Friday near her home in a small lake known a8 Hart's lake. She was in the water bathing, and getting beyond her depth lost her hold on the upon which she was supporting herself. Mrs. Hart was a sister of Mrs. May, wife of Hon. Chas. 8. May. - Henry Hart, one of the victima of the Adrián disaster, was a dry goods dealer of the above oity inany years, held the office of special agent of the postoffice department for Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin and northeru Illinois, mayorship of Adrián in 1859, and secretary of Michigan state insurance company froin 186G to his death. He was bom in 1818. Captain Hervey Parkeïied at Pontiac, üct. 3, aged 89 years, 6 months.- Mr. Parke is quite well known in this county by raauy of the older 6ettlers from his official position as surveyor of public lauds in the early history of this section of the state. He had been hopelessly afflicted the past twelve years with paralysis, and passed away at the residence of his Bon-in-law, W. M. McConnell.
