Milán, Oct. 27. - Mr. James Delaforco and wife a daugbter, Oct. lOtli. - Mr. Charles VanWormer is building a welling house for himself near Mr. D. Case's. - The Milun schools closed on Oct. 27th on account of the scarlet í'uver now prevailing in the vicinity. - Miss Kittie Kelsey is siele with the "cankered throat," with which several persons havo been attackod here the past few dnys. - Wilson & Sons havo a tplephone in operation between their saw mili and grist mili as a convenience in their business. - The scarlet fover broko out in this villago last week, and several cases are reported, though none of theiu of a very SUVutG fnrm, - Mrs. Azalia Mead frora Chicago, widow of Mr. Thaddeua Moad formerly of Milan was vigiting friends in Müan on the 2th. -David Ilitchcock and N. C.Putnam are soon to have a telepbone in operaion betwoen the railroad depot and lr. Putnam's storo. - The ímpetus lately given to business bas ruaohed Milan village, we judge, from tho very unusually largo display of goods in the stores here. I -Mr. C. H. Wilson will put a circular saw in his saw mili in a short time, in order to get out his stock of logs, in season for füling up Lis mili yard the coming winter. - The interest accumulated frora Maynard Library fund, belonging to the school district here is soon to be invested in books, aud the library put into working order. The school board will meet the present week to form rules, regulatiug the distribution of books and other business iu the interest of the library. - Mrs. Philip Edwards is very eick with a disease similar to diptheria; a small child of Mr. Jiidwai-as is ulso Blek with the satne ooinplaint. Thesymptoms of tne diseaso is a soreness of tho throat, followed by slight chills ; then the throat becorues cankered and the patieut swallows vith great diffioulty ; a fe ver generally acoompanies the coniplaint. There has beenseveral cases of the above complaiut iu this vieinity lately.
