Piither Slatterly excbanged pulpits with Father Savage, of (Jratton, llich., Sunday. This the doctors prescribe as being essential for the recovery of her Lealtb. -Mr. John McGuiuessand MissMary Dolan, of Dexter, wei e ruarried by Rev. Father Slatterly, Tuesday niorning.- After the wedding repast at the residence of Mr. John Dolan, the happy couple to. k the eastward bound train tbr Toledo. - An itera last week stated that a. person giving thenarae oí' "John Brown of Dexter," was knocked down and robbed of $35.00 by a colored man, at Detroit. We know of no such person uround here, and naturally conclude hat the gentleman was either a little "off," or had forgotten to localize himelf correctly. -Mr. Colby sold Mr. Daly his farm, or at least Mr. D. thought -o, and accordingly paid hiui a sum of money to bind the bargain. Mr. C. also sold a fow trees to a coupie of persons who paid him for them. But now it seeuis that Mr. C. had eold farm, trees and all to another party btfore the other sales, and receiving his money quietly departed, leaving Mr. D. and other parties to mourn bis unceremonious leave. - Mrs. Jones, wife of H. B. Jones, of this place, died attheirresidence Friday morning the 16th inst. She had been uiling for a nuiubor of' years, and thougb her death was expected, it was nevorthe lesa a sad blow to the bereaved husband, who uatil reoently had strong hopes of her reoovery. Sho was but 32 years old, and leavos a larga cirole of relatives and fiiends to mourn her loss. The funeral took place Sunday at 2 p. M. i'rom the M. E. Church. - A couple of weeks ago Geo. Goodrich lost a valuablè cow, and after a long and fruitlesa hunt reluctantly catne to the conclusión that some ble individual had diiven her avvay. Last Friday morning he went out and was cutting some straw, when lo! and behold! a cow's tail protruded froin a large hole in the stack. Following up thi8 discovery, he found the owner of the tail in the shape of the long lost cow, which had era wied in the hole, and being unable to extrioate herself, had remained there 12 days without food or drink. The cow was so weak she wp.s unable to stand, but careful treatment brought her around all right. - A party was given ty a gentleman living cear Seio, last Friday evening, and was largeiy attended, and thing went lovely and serene, until uigh on the " wee sina " hours of morning, when two young men smitten alike by the eharms of a prepossessing damsel, resolved to bave it out, and acoordingly prepared for the cotnbat.
