This makes the second colored jury ever had in Waslitenaw county. -Monday night at the concert Mr. Cornwell and Mr. Green placed the electric light in front of the opera house. That night Mr. Covnwell was taken with severe pains in his eyes r.ccompanied by swelling of the face. The face present an appearanee as if it hac been sunburned. Dr. Batwell was called aml serious results are fearec that the eyes may be permanently injured. Mr. Green is simüarly aftlicted t'iough not as serious. This proves that the intenso light is too sharp foi the eye when looked at for any length of time. -The" election Monday passed off much to the slitisf action of the Dernocrats. The Republicans elected Mr. Allen mayor by 28 majoiïty over F. J. Swaine.
