Eaton Mills, May 17. -We are happy to say that Mrs. S.P. Ballard is recovering from her severe sickness. - Friday erening W. E. Dunning of Stony Creek lectured at Morgan schoolhouse. Subject, temperance. -Last Thursday evening there was a maple sugar party at Mr. Asa Darlings, at wliich about 40 persons attended. -There is considerable excitement prevailing at present over uie nuuimu. The surveyors passed llirough this section last week. The road crosses the county line about half a mile north of Eaton Mills whieh will make quite a business point, there being already a good scliool-house, blacksmith shop, sawraill and store. - Another victim to Cupid's dart. A few weeks ago Mr. Wm. Russell of California carne to visit his old friends and relativos in this vicinity. He returned taking as his bride Mis Della E. Freeman. They were married at the schoolhouse during quarterly meeting and witnessed by a large attendance. The (rienda met at Mr. Bunton's for a farewell visit. Della will be greatly missed in society and at ho ne. - The adjoining neighborhood is considerably excited over the kicking of the son of Wm. Boyce, Saturday, May 8.- The chikl comiilained of distress in his stomach, growing worse until someume Monday when he died. A post mortem examination revealed the fact tliat the boy died from the effects of a kiek in the stomach, given itis said by his father. The boy was about 8 years old.- Mrs. Boye has been insane sometime. The neïghbors have investigated the matter, but as to the conclusión we are uninformed.
