Delegates trovo the severa! townsand wanls met at the court house on Tnesday and were called to order by Chairman of the county committee C. II. Richmond. Mr. C. 8. Gregory of Scio was nominated and elected temporary chairman. Walter Dancer of Lima was elected temporary seeretary. A committee of three on credentlals was moved andcarried. The ehairappointed Mtssrs. Ezra sanford of Saline, E. Clancy of Northfleld and Orriu Tliateh(]■ of Kylvan. Ilewitt of Manchester. Committee on organization reported for permanent oiü(;ers the gentlemen selected for temporary officers. Mr. Gregory thanked the convention for the additioual honor of beingselected to preside peimanently over the deliberations of the convention. The convention resolved itself into three representativo district eonventions to select six delegates each to represent the county at the state and congressional conventions. Jackson, Y"ork; rm. Lowden, Augusta. Second District- state, Gov.Felcb,E. ]?. Pond, Dr. S. II. Douglas, Ann Arbor; J. W. lianry, Superior, M. Dufty, Webster; JobnRyan,Northfield. Congressional-, O. Question of apportionment of delegates being brought before the convention, considerable discussion was eliciii']. and on motion of Mr. Rose of Sharon the matter waslaid onthetable. Mr. C. H. Richmond announced the date of the convention to select candidates for county offices to be Thursday, Aug. 26, and urged upon démocrats of the various towns to attend tho primarles and select thebestmenasdelegates, which, if done, and aticket composed of unexceptionable men bc presentad to thepeopleof the county, success will he assured. There was no doubt in his mind in a fnll and complete triumph. Mr. Whttman of Ypsilanti being called upon apoke briefly and his remarks were well received. Mr. McDougallof Bridgewater alluded to tbe Qattering prospects in the nation and in the county, and counselled good selections for connty offlcers as well as harmony in the ranks.
