-A ncw wagon bridge is bemg tmnt over the Central tracks on the up-grade ea3t of YpsilanU. -On Thursday morning of last week there were nearly one hundred miles of passenger coaches standing on the tracks lerminating at Chicago. -The roads centering at Chicago look nto tliat city on Monday of last week 6200 passengers and 2",,000 trunka. riiis is the heavlestwoik f this cha:acter ever done by these linea. -In grading for the Pontiac extensión of the T. & A. A. road another of those troublesome sink-holes has heen struek. This time about a mile north of South Lyon, and it birts fair to rival the one encountered about four miles north of this city. ' -The syiles and tlmberfor the bridge over the Central and across the mil!xmd for the extensión of the T. & A. A. are being delivered this week. The Mratoon boats are constructed and a torce of men are at work getting ready for active operations. - üov. Croswell and other state officials, composing the State Board of Control of Railways, starled Tuesday to Inspéct the iirst twety miles of the Maekinaw and Marqnette toad, now completed, prepaatory to torning over the grant of every altérnate section of átate lands alone the road as far as completed. -Work on the Detroit and liutler road is progressing rapidly, one-half of tlie entire distance between the two potots is now graded. It is expected that the eatire roadbed vvill be ready for the iion within live or six weeks. The road wlll be built in less time than was required to raise the bonus subscription ta Detroit. -The " racket " between the sylvaniaand Toledo & Aun Axbor roaos by wbich Uie latfer was refused depot privileges at Toledo was owing to the latter not "coming omejiately down" witli the cash for a bilí presentad for rent, &c. The " misunderstandiup: "' lasted but three or four days. The traína nm into the depot the saine as bef ore. , , -The Michigan Air Lme has broken ground some ten rods inside Pontiac city limite. The Toledo, Aun Arbor and Pontiac Railroad Company has purchased thc rignt of way ttutmgh the city and will have its depot in conjunction with Uh Michigan Air Line. The work of construction will be commenced immediately and the road islied, if possible, before January 1.- Free Press. -The abutments for the iron bridge at McMahon's, mile and a half west of this city, was completad yesterday. This will probably be the most expensive bridge along the Iluron. The abutments for two other bridges west of the city have been completed this Beason. The iron will be put upon them duriag the coming winter. The construction train with the large stearn derrick with which the stone lifting was done returned to Jackson lastevening. It is said that the abutments for two or three other bridges in this vicinity will be constructed tuis season witb hand derricks.
