Covert returns from Albion, where in counection with the college, he bas been exerdsing hisskill as a taxKermist. - Lieut. ('has. E. Hiscock, to rest f rom his week's labor at the recent military encampment, has been indnlgins in a trip around the lakes. -One of Ann Arbor's former business men, Chas. A. Hom, now of Minneapolis, Minn., spent a day among his old f riends here the latter part of last week. -Messrs. Sampson Parker of Limn, C. H. Riclimond anü E. B. Pond of this city constitute the committee to decide as to the two best hedge f enees in tliis connty. - Henj. Brown return ed Saturday from his trip to Minnesota and Dakota. Handy, Henry Matthews and Albert Blaess occupied one bed at a hotel, afta it was not a wide bed either. Anything to see the big show they thought. - It is predicted that Capt. Allen will be renominated at the first representative district convention to be held tomorrow at Ypsilanti. The heavy-base orator has his eye on the speaker's chair. - Rev. S. W. Dnffield, former pastor of the Preabyterian church of this city, now of Altoona, Pa., is spending the week among his friends here. He will preach at the Presbyterian church next Sunday. -Ex-Recorder Chas. J. Kintner of this city, now in the Patent Office at Washington, has recent ly been promoted from third to second assistant examiner of patents. He has the congratulations of his many friends here.
