If a delégate to a convention of dealers in clothing was to he selected, 10 better man thsn Mr. Jacobs could e found. Besides Mr. Jacobs has' given very little attention to governnental affaire, nationallv or locallv. neither has he official experience to aid íim. Messrs. Childs of Augusta and Vheeler of Salem, both practical and prominent farmers, refused the nomiíation. JVIr. Jacobs was selected as a ort of last resort to load a forlorn hope. ün the otherhand,Mr. Rose hasexpesince not only as supervisor but iu Uier positionsthat can not help but aid íim in discharging the dutiesof senator. le la the owner of more acres of cultiatiljle lands tlian anv other farmer of Vashtonaw coimty. He is a prudent man, otherwise from a ponr boy begining with nothing, he could not well have risen in life to enjoy the position Ik; does in the township he representa as supervisor and in tlio coimty. He is careful in reaohlag conclusions; weigbs well lus decisions before announcing them. Mr Rose is a warm friend of education and will caref ully w&tch over the Interests of out university at Laning. He payes taxes in live districts towards the maintainance of public, schools, contributee liberally in supjwrl of a church which he atienda and in cüaritable enterprtaes ever willing to subscribe freely. The votera of Washtenaw county will not we belieye fail to elect Mr. lióse to represent us at Lausiug.
