Wc cannot too soon save and preserve the elomentsof early history, which year by year ore passing i'rom the records and memoriea of t!t! past. Much valuable informaliou now in possession of the fêw living pioniers of the county can only in this way lio gaved. il' tliis information is not now gathered together in conventent fonn for preservation, the generations of the future wil] beealled npon to expend large siuns of inoney to searcli out and explore relict of their f;ar]y history, which can now be preserved with but comparatively little trouble and expense. We are glad to note that ('has. C. ('hapman & ('o., the publishers of our County Elistory, are making excellent progresa in gathering tip material for that volume. The people al] over the connty are taking a remarkable interest in thia work. It will not only contain the pioneer history of the county, but will treat upon everv topic of genera] interest in the county's history down to the dato of issue.
