- Dexter's school re-opens Jan. 3. - J. II. Eaton suceeeds L. Tubbs as marshal of Dexter. - Rev. Mr. Hauseinan of Adrián is the guest of llev. Stephen Klingman of Lodi. -The Cornwell Fire Company of Fpsilanti gave their annual ball at Light Guard ball. last evening. - Hon. John J. Robison of Sharon has sold his farm to Elmer son of Samuel Cushman of the same towin for a considera tion, we liear, of $10,000. -John Códy, an old resident of Ypsilanti city, and formerly for many years an extensive dealer in crockery there, died Wednesday moruiug, at his residence, of consumption. - Another of the veteran snbscribers who has read the Argus since its inception, thirty-six years ago, Mr. J. F. iSeeley of Ypsilanti, renewed his subscription for 1S81 last week. - Subscribera residing outside of Washtenaw county wül please reniember pre-payment is required for the Argus. By remitting promptly a single, number need not be missed. - At tho animal meeting of the state gran ge held in Lansing, Mrs. II. I). Platt of Pittsfield was elected Poruona, and .(.Webster Childs of Augusta, a member of the executive eommittee. - In Lima, Dec. 18, Mrs. Cora A. Burkbart, wife of Oran C. Burkhart, died, from whatDr. Frothingbam prooouncea black diphtheria, for which there is no remedy. She was a member of the M. E. chureh, 19 years of age. leaving an infant child thirteen days old. - An oyster supper was held at the residence of Mr. Lucius Fairchild of Xoith Sharon, for the purpose of raising money to apply on the purchase of the new oigan for the Sunday school, ïhose interested were highly gratilied at the resulta, the net proceeds being $15.82. - Ypsilanti Commercial: " Cornwell's pulp mili at Geddes will be in running order the first of the week. The work of putting in the machinery has been done under the supervisión of II. L. Stoup. The mili will manufacturo pulp from poplai wood.
