GEORGE MILLER DIED SUNDAY

A RESIDENT OF ANN ARBOR FOR HALF A CENTURY

Was Engaged in the Manufacture of Pumps - The Funeral to be Held Tomorrow

George Miller died Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock of general debility, having been a great sufferer for the past year. He was born May 13, 1830, at Trebur, Gross Herzochthum Hessen Darmstadt, Germany. At the age of 20 years he came to this country. For 51 years he has been a resident of Ann Arbor. having engaged himself early all this time in the manufacture of pumps.

Mr. Miller was on the vestry of Zion church for a great many years. first as trustee and then as deacon. All three deacons of the church together for many years. William J.Merkle, Christian Mark and George Mlller, have died this year. He was a charter member of the Arbeiter Unterstuetzungs Verein in 1869. In 1856 he was married to Miss Dorothea Katz, who died in 1878. He had always declined Office when offered him, but had taken an Interest in affairs as a good citizen. He was a good citizen, a good neighbor, a kindly honest man and a kind father.

Six of his children are living. They are Wm. J. Miller, George H. Miller, Anna Miller, Mrs. Bertha Mast, Carrie Miller and Emma Miller.

The funeral services of George Miller. held in Zion Lutheran Church Tuesday afternoon, were largely attended by many friends of the deceased. Rev. Alexander Nlcklas, the pastor of the church, officiated. The floral offerings were beautiful and numerous. The honorary pallbearers were the vestry, and the active pallbearers were William Herz Herz, Gottlob Lulck, Jacob Katz, Anton Teufel, George Schlimmer and Ludwlg Walz. The interment took place in the family burial lot on Forest Hill cemetery. Among those present from out of town were Peter Miller and daughter of Ypsilantl and Josn Schlee of Saline.
