The late Mrs. Emeline Cheever left a short will, which is dated Aug. 12, '00. She says: "If there is anything left of what belongs to me when I have done with earth I wish my son, Noah W. Cheever, to have the use of it, while he lives, if he decides he needs it, or should any misfortune befall him, so that he wouldn't have sufficient of his own left to let him have the best of care if money will do it, for he is worthy as a dutiful son, as well as a kind husband and loving father.

"Let mine, if not needed for him, be kept at interest until it amounts to something worth being divided by law. "'

On Aug. 30 she adds the following paragraph or codicil:

"Yesterday I gave my son Noah W. Cheever a paper containing my wishes in regard to the disposition of what belongs to me when I have no further use for it. I think I neglected to insert my wish that my four grandsons all share alike at the final settlement by families and their heirs in case of death of any what belongs to me. If Noah finds himself amply provided for and wishes to settle the estate while he feels able to do it, he can do so notwithstanding my request in the article he took home with him yesterday."

The will is witnessed by W. R. Bagley and Parmelia A. Noble. The estate is estimated at $4,000.
