224 Deaths Here Last Year
Dr. W. B. Hinsdale, health officer of Ann Arbor, has made his annual report to the department at Washington in charge of vital statistics. With an estimated population of 15,000 in Ann Arbor last year there were 224 deaths or 14.933 per cent. Of course many deatlis have occurred in the city of non-residents. These should be deducted from the total which would then give a very low death rate. There were only 92 deaths caused by contagious diseases, which is very low, showing that such freedom is due largely to the careful isolation of the parties who are sick.
