HOUSE TO HOUSE PRAYER MEETINGS

May be Held in Chelsea This Week

Glazier Bank Building

The Massive Columns will be Placed in Position This Week

Chelsea, Mich., Jan. 13.—Floyd Van Riper, of this place, who has been working as a meat cutter in one of the leading markets of Jackson for the past six months, is now with John G. Adrion, of this place, in a similar position.

One of the pastors of the churches here is reported as contemplating holding a series of house to house prayer meetings this week.

The social given at their hall, by the K. O. T. M., last Friday evening was a success both socially and financially.

Norton Bros., of Ypsilanti, the contractors who have charge of the mason work of the Glazier Memorial building expect to place in position the massive columns that are on either side of the main entrance to the building about the middle of this week. As each of the columns weigh something over 10 tons each, the work will be watched with a great deal of interest by many of our citizens. When this building is completed and ready for occupancy by the Chelsea Savings Bank it will have finest banking offices between Detroit and Chicago.

Friday evening. Jan. 17, will be the regular meeting of Chelsea tent. K. O. T. M., at which time the officers for the ensuing year will be installed. The ladies of St. Paul's German Lutheran church are making arrangements to purchase a set of fine dishes for their use when they give one of their popular rappers. Heretofore the society has had to rent crockery when they served a supper and the present move will save them a great deal of trouble and annoyance.

Miss Agnes McKinnon, of Saline, a teacher of elocution, is here forming a class and will give an entertainment at the opera house in the near future. The annual meeting of the Congregational church will be held this evening at 7:30 and every member of the church is expected to answer at roll call to their name with a verse of scripture or send one to be read.
