CELEBRATED HIS 70TH BIRTHDAY
Wednesday J. Q. A. Sessions celebrated his 70th birthday and several of his neighbors helped him celebrate. He was brought to this county in a cradle 68 years ago, the youngest of eight children. The family settled in the woods three miles east of Whitmore Lake on 320 acres of land. His earliest recollections are that he saw Indians come to the house to swap berries for bread, heard the wolves howl in the night, and the building of the log school house on his father's farm. He assisted in organization of the Washtenaw County Pioneer society in 1871 and has been its secretary for 15 years, but was retired last year by his special request.
