                   FOR CONGRESS

Many friends of Royal S. Copeland have signed a request addressed to him asking that he allow his name to be used as a republican candidate for nomination for representative to congress. Mayor Copeland has so far declined to give a decisive answer, but it is understood that under some contingencies he may consent to acquiesce to his friends' wishes. Much interest is being taken in the matter. Attorney V. W. Wedemeyer is decided in his intentions. He is frank in stating that he is a candidate.
