Work Has Been Resumed on the Glazier Memorial Building
Chelsea, Mich., Jan. 30. - Last night at Staffan's bowling alley there was a highly interesting matched game of ten-pins, between a team of the Jackson City Bowling club and the Chelsea team. Each team consisted of five members, and three games of ten frames each were played resulting as follows:

Wirt S. McLaren and Bert Steinbach acted as official scorers of the game. After the game Geo. P. Staffan repaired to the Hotel Boyd and served refreshments to the visiting and home teams, with music by Messrs. Burg and Trouten, and vocal selections by F. Ward. The Chelsea boys will play a return game at Jackson next Tuesday evening. Jackson won last evening's game by 28 points, and on Thanksgiving day when the same teams played here, Chelsea won by 261 points.
Quite a number of Chelseaites attended the Steinbach-Laney wedding at Dexter yesterday.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Freer, who were married at Newark, O., Wednesday, Jan. 22, arrived here on the late train Tuesday evening and will make this place their future home.
The funeral services of Mrs. Jane Prudden, the mother of Wm. Denman and N.F. Prudden, who died at the home of her son, Wm. Denman, Sunday evening, was held yesterday afternoon from the Baptist church, Rev. F. A. Stiles officiating. Her age was 82 years and for many years she was a resident of this county and was the last survivor of the original members of the Baptist church here.
Howard Brooks is having the field stone dressed for the foundation of a new brick house that he will erect on W. Middle street as soon as the weather will permit.
Norton Bros., of Ypsilanti are again at work with their full force of men on the Glazier Memorial building. Today E.F. Morton, of the Morton Truck company, of Detroit, with seven assistants, will begin to raise the 10-ton columns at the front entrance, and the four marble columns, weighing 30 tons, that will be used in the interior of the building will be unloaded from the cars and taken to the building and the Vermont Marble company, which furnishes them, has a representative here who will superintend the work of placing them in their proper position, and from the present outlook the building is fast nearing completion. When completed it will be the finest business building in Washtenaw county and well may Chelsea residents point to it with pride for indeed it is a beautiful building and one that will last for many generations.
The Glazier Stove company has just received one furniture carload of the oak finish from Grand Rapids t hat will be used for the interior finish of their new office building. The material comes completed in sections, ready for the workmen to place in position. There will be several carloads of it and the company expect to have the offices completed and ready for occupancy in about 30 days.
