William Crippen has just returned from a visit to his brother, Frank Crippen, of Hudson.

The school in district No. 4, Superior is closed on account of the mumps. 

Mrs. Jane Crippen is visiting at William Crippen's.

About 40 friends and neighbors surprised Mr. and Mrs. Charles Palmer and presented each with a fine rocking chair.

Two Funerals at Stony Creek

Stony Creek, Jan. 27. - Rev. Lewis of Ann Arbor occupied the pulpit at the M.E. church Sunday morning and the Presbyterian in the evening.

Rev. H.J.B. Marsh has closed his meeting at the West Sumpter church.

The funeral of Mrs. Collar was held at the Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon. The interement took place in Stony Creek cemetery.

The funeral of Mrs. Arvilla Hammond, an old resident, was held at the Child's church Sunday morning; burial at Child's cemetery.

The Crescent Aid society met with Mrs. T.L. Buck on Wednesday. A pleasant time and good attendance are reported. 

The new curtains for the Presbyterian church windows have arrived and will soon be put in place.

Mrs. M. Welch is visiting friends in this vicinity.

Charles W. McClintock, advance agent of the King Dramatic Co., is registered at Hotel American. The company will appear all of next week in the Athens theater. It has a fine reputation and good work may be expected.
