Death of an Aged Pioneer

F.M. Hooker Died at Chelsea Saturday Morning

The Marble Columns in the Interior of the Glazier Building Will Be Put Up This Week

Chelsea, Mich., Feb. 2. - F.M. Hooker, an old and respected resident of this village, died Saturday morning. For upwards of a year Mr. Hooker has been in poor health, but his demise was rather sudden and unexpected. He leaves three daughters, the wife of Dr. Thos. Shaw of Ypsilanti, Mrs. Higgins of Detroit, and Miss Katherine of this village.

The Ladies' Aid society of the Baptist church will serve a tea tomorrow evening in the church parlors. Word was received Saturday of the death of Mrs. Wm. Yocum at her home in Manchester. For a number of years Mrs. Yocum was a resident of Chelsea, and has a sister and other relatives living here. She leaves a husband, two sons who are in business in Manchester, and a daughter who resides in Brooklyn, Mich.

The 10-ton columns for the Glazier Memorial building were placed in position Friday and Saturday and this week the marble columns on the interior of the building will be placed in position.
