By the Knights of Pythias of Which Lodge He is the Finance Keeper

Milan. Mich., Feb. 11--The members of Milan lodge, No. 288, Knights of the Pythias, tendered a banquet tonight to Sir Knight Burt Farrington, convicted in Adrian last week of the manslaughter of Jesse Hooker, his former employee, who ruined Farrington's home. The affair was in the nature of a formal welcome home to Farrington and was an effort to assure him of the sympathy of his lodge brethren his misfortune.

The hall had been especially prepared for the occasion and the banquet was preceded by regular degree work. None but members of the lodge were admitted to the affair.

Commander G. W. Hitchcock of the lodge gave the opening address and was followed by Elan Gauntlett and others.

Farrington is said to have been deeply affected at the token of esteem and made an extremely touching reply. He is still retaining his office of finance keeper of the lodge.

Since Farrington's return his temporal affairs have thrived wonderfully. Milan citizen have regarded him as a protege since the time of the commission of the crime and his meal market is thronged dally with customers. For several days following the trial he was not regularly engaged in the management of his business, but yesterday he was again at his old stand, where he remain until the time for the hearing of his case in court.
