BIG INCREASE OF BUSINESS

Demonstrates the Popularity of "The Store"

TWELVE FLOORS OCCUPIED

Walter Mack and Force of Assistants Start East to Buy New Goods

W. C. Mack started upon his eastern trip Sunday for the purpose of making spring purchases for "The Store". He will have with him the assistance of Mr. Clark, Mr. Manning, Miss Looker, Miss Hintz and Miss Harvey and the purchases they will make promise to be the largest ever brought to Ann Arbor in one season.

The growth of "The Store's" business for the past few years has indeed been a most marvelous one, in every light in which it can be considered. It was only a short time ago that they found three floors ample for the accommodation of their trade and that now twelve floors, each of equal or greater capacity, are crowded to their limit. Some conception can thus be gained of the enormous increase and importance of their trade, the past year particularly demonstrating that the public fully realizes and appreciates what it is worth to have such a store in Ann Arbor. It seems almost incredible yet it is a fact that during the last six months of 1901 their business was equal to that of any previous twelve months in their history, and today "The Store" ranks with the best institutions in Michigan both in extent of floor capacity and in the valuation of its sales.

Mr. Mack intends to give his personal attention to the purchasing of goods for their cloak department as he expects to enlarge this popular section this spring, making it the equal of any similar department in Detroit with which it now is in direct competition.
