HAD A BIG TIME IN MILAN

SALINE MASONS WENT THERE LAST FRIDAY NIGHT

Zions Lodge of Detroit Conferred the Third Degree - Work Followed by a Banquet

Saline, Mich., Feb. 18.- A large number of Masons went to Milan last Friday night to see Zion lodge, of Detroit, do third degree work at Milan. one hundred and fifteen Masons came from Detroit. The banquet was given by the the Eastern Star and the ladies of the Milan lodge cannot be excelled in getting up a banquet. The opera house was filled with tables, with dainties and flowers intemingled, making the room look like fairyland. The musicians were kept busy with encores. Mr. Williams, of Zion lodge, was toastmaster and proved a genius in mirthwaking, keeping everyone laughing. lmpromtu songs and recitations in various dialects were given. A large photograph of the officers of Zion lodge was presented the Milan lodge and the speaker said the ladies were not forgotten on Valentines day and presented them with small photos of Zion lodge. lt seemed as if the curtain had been drawn so that the stern realities of life had been shut out, and those present were in the warm sunny land of summer, brotherly love and mirth, and in its ripplings were the elixir of life and when in closing "Auld Lang Syne" was sung, a thrill went through each one that will not soon be forgotten.

The scholars of Miss M. Gardner's school ere given a sleighride through the kindness of G. .J. Nissley. B. Carven gave some of the high school girls a sleighride.

A sleighload of Presbyterian went to Ypsilanti and were entertained by some of the Ypsilanti ladles.

Mrs. Dale F. Unterkircher has been called to the bedside of her mother, Mrs. W. E. Colwell, who is very sick.

It is reported that George Schroen has sold his farm to Martin Schaible, and that the 150 acres sold for $60 an acre.
