Sorry guys, but there's a big storm a comin', and our equipment is not rated for wet/dry use. Taste of Ann Arbor is still going strong, but we've had to take down our DDR equipment before the next storm comes. However, don't despair: our next all ages DDR event is just a month away: Sunday, July 1, from 1 - 4 PM at the downtown library. Also, don't miss our simultaneous Guitar Hero 2 / Pikmin 2 tournaments Friday Night, 6/29, from 6-8:30 PM, and our massive 5-hour Super Smash Bros. Regulation Throwdown, Saturday, 6/30, from Noon - 5 PM. Plus, our Pokémondays Summer Tournament Series starts Monday, 6/25, from 1 - 5 PM at the Pittsfield Branch. See you soon!

well I still don't know if i CAN go. how far is midland from ann arbor anyways? the answer to that question will help me make my final deciton.
midland is about 2 hours
midland is about 2 hours away. it's pretty damned fun.
we won't get lost there, because we already did that last time. mapquest likes SNORKing us over by giving us unnecessary directions and putting roads on the map that aren't actually in the right spot. : /
i think we'll have a camcorder too, so we'll definitely have fun recording. =]
oh and we can visit the gas station that has automated gas units that talk to you about jesus while you gas up. it's creepy.

The Pokémon tournaments are
The Pokémon tournaments are GBA. So Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed and LeafGreen will be usable. Diamond and Pearl will not be a regulated tournament but expect lots of people to be playing it there (enough to make it easily worthwhile hopefully). I know at least 4 regulars to have Diamond and/or Pearl (including Eli and Nemo). I hope to acquire my copy of pearl this week so you can make that 5.
I don't actually know the format. I assume there will be brackets for Lv.50 and a Lv.100, but I'm wondering if there is another one. Please inform us Eli.
Now I will continue breeding.

I went out and got LeafGreen today, but then I remembered that Eli said you had to still have a GBA or an SP to use the link cables, so I suppose I'll just use LeafGreen for importing Pokemon into my Diamond version. If there's enough interest, I'd be more than happy to coordinate a tournament for Diamond and Pearl, no prizes, just bragging rights. Or we could just open battle and trade.
I'd be interested in trading with anyone who has any Pokemon from the original 151 (or the ones #1-151 in the National Pokedex), at any level, so if anyone has any that they're willing to trade, let me know either on here or at the events, and we'll see what we can work out. I'm not that big of a fan of these new-fangled species they have, so if I have something you want, I'll probably be more than willing to trade it to you.
Also, just to get an idea of how I'm progressing, I'm just past 15 hours, I have 3 badges and I'm at the lake South of Veilstone City. Where is everybody else?

Hey, I didn't know there
Hey, I didn't know there were so many pokéfreaks among the gt faithful! Pokémondays this summer will still require fire red / leaf green / ruby / sapphire / emerald, but we have some house GBAs that are always available so you don't need to worry about that. Some of the tournaments are for level 50 and under, some are for 51 & over, and some are open. I'll make a detailed Pokémondays post as we get closer.
We won't move to Diamond / Pearl / Pokémon Battle Revolution this summer, but we will have our first Diamond / Pearl event the friday after thanksgiving, and then winter break Pokémania.
Stay tuned for full GT season details too.

Well Eli, this is a REGULATION tournament as stated, so we need to have double elimination. Because that's what is part of regulation rules. Haha.
Also, stage list?
FC, with 200+ people in

I think the library should cut to top 16, and then double elim bracket for the rest.
And friendly fire for teams would be good too.
