Surprise For Presbyterians
Individual Communion Service Given Them
Was Used Yesterday
After the Charge of the Pastor the People Partake of the Wine Simultaneously
The members of the Presbyterian church were given a happy surprise Sunday.
It was an individual communion service and was provided for through the generosity of D.T. McNeil and family.
Persons who attended the church yesterday morning noticed that two small receptacles were placed on either side of the hymnbook racks in each pew and it excited considerable curiosity.
When the regular service was completed the matter was explained by the pastor and ten elders took trays containing 40 small wine glasses and distributed them throughout the congregation.
As each glass of wine was handed into a pew it was placed in the receptacle provided therefore and when all were supplied the pastor gave the communion charge and, kneeling, those present partook of the wine simultaneously.
It makes a very impressive service and is better from a sanitary point of view and more satisfactory in every way.
