Young Men Form a Club at Manchelter

A.F. Freeman Admitted To Practice In the United States Supreme Court

Manchester, Mich., March 5. - Edgar  Blaisdell, who is working in Toledo, came here Tuesday to attend the funeral of his aunt, Mrs. Lucia Campbell.

Mrs. Lynn Hardenburgh and daughter and Miss Bertha Lehn went to Techumseh Wednesday afternoon to spend a few days with relatives and friends.

A few friends of Mrs. J.A. Goodyear were very pleasantly entertained at cards at her home on Tuesday evening.

The Alpha Sigma meeting held Monday evening was unusually interesting and a large number were present. The debate - "Resolved, that the tariff on Cuban sugar should be lowered," was well delivered and discussed in an exciting manner. The contestants on the affirmative were Carl Essery and Bertha Breitenwischer; on the negative, Harry Atkinson and Ada Palmer. The judges, Will Kramer, Grace Lee and John Grossman, decided in favor of the negative. The musical program was furnished by Mrs. George Nisle, the Misses Alma Schmid, Donna Watkins and Elizabeth Kimble.

Postmaster Bailey made a trip to River Raisin Monday for the purpose of removing the post office at that place, the new mail route now serving its former patrons.

A club composed of some of the young men of the town will give a series of six dances at Arbeiter hall, the first one to be held on Monday evening, March 10. Whitmire's orchestra, of Ypsilanti, will furnish the music.

Mrs. Royall, of Tampa, Fla., will make Manchester her home for the coming summer and reside at the home of the late Mrs. C.D. Valentine, her sister.

While in Washington, D.C., A.F. Freeman was admitted and qualified as an attorney and counsellor of the supreme court of the United States. 

The last number on the School Lecture course will be given by the Schiller Male Quartet, on Tuesday evening, March 11, and which promises to be the best entertainment on the course.
