Dr. William W.Collins, for 38 years one of the leading physicians of Albion, died last week at the age of 77 years after illness of five years with paralysis, Dr.Collins came to Michigan with his parents from Wayne county., New York, in 1829. He was then only 4 years old, and Michigan was, of course, very sparsely settled at that time. His boyhood days were spent attending the country school, and then he entered the medical department at the University of Michigan, graduating in 1852, After graduation he practiced for two years in Waterloo, Jackson county, and then five years in Eaton Rapids, coming to Albion in 1879. Dr.Collins was a Mason and an Odd Fellow, and a member of the M.E. church.
