Mrs. Dorothy Paul, relict of the late Jacob Paul, died yesterday morning at 11 o'clock at her old homestead in Scio. She had been iil for some time and her end did not come unexpected. The funeral services will be held Monday at 1 o'clock at her late home, and at 2 o'clock in the Bethlehem Evangelical church in Ann Arbor. The interment will be on Forest Hill cemetery. 

She was the daughter of the late Michale Kaercher and born in 1823 in Leinfelden, oberamt Stuttgart, Wuertemberg, Germany. She came with her parents to Washtenaw county in 1836, being then 13 years of age. She endured all the privations of the early pioneers, and she could relate very entertainingly of the Indians when she traded bread for honey.  An Indian trail passed near her father's home. She married Jacob Paul who preceded her in death some years ago.  Six children. Frederick of Scio, Rosina, wife of Michael Staebler of Ann Arbor, William and Henry of Pittsfield, Emanuel of Saline township and Gottfried of Bridgewater. 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and one brother. Gottlieb Kaercher, of St. Johns, survive her. She was much respected and had a large circle of friends.
