LEG CUT OFF BELOW THE KNEE

Alphonse Lemble, son of A. Lemble, the meat market man, met with a serious accident while on duty in the United States Cavalry recently. He was transferred to Fort McKenzie in Wyoming and while attending to his horse was kicked in the foot.  The bone was splintered and he was taken to the hospital where an attempt was made to set the bone.  It was found so badly broken that the leg had to be cut off below the knee. He is now in the hospital and very sick, but the doctors think he will recover. The government will provide him with a cork leg and a pension of $40 a month.
