Manchester, Mich., March 15-Miss Alma Schmid was the guest of Miss Ella Frank, of Wayne, from Friday until Sunday. 

Miss Matie Swift returned Friday from Toledo, where she had been spending the week in the wholesale houses. Miss Julia Kirchhorer, of Ann Arbor, spent Saturday and Sunday with her parents. 

Miss Blanche Riedel, of Bridgewater, visited friends in Clinton over Sunday.

Miss Jessie Schafer, of Saline, was the guest of Miss Laura Renau over Sunday.

The Young Ladies' society of Emmanuel's church met with Miss Alma Schmid Thursday evening. 

F. M. Freeman attended the McKinley club banquet at Adrian Friday evening. 

Several of the teachers attended the Jackson Country Teachers' association at Brooklyn, Saturday. 

Miss Fannie Saley, of Bridgewater, is visiting her sister, Mrs. G. A. Servis.

As the season advances the high school boys consider more seriously the idea of organizing a football team.

Mrs. Helen Gillett, who has been visiting in Sharon, returned to her home in Brooklyn, Friday.

Mrs. J. R. Lowery was in Jackson Friday.

Miss Edyth Corry, who has been visiting in town, was taken suddenly ill Thursday. Her mother came up from Tecumseh Friday to accompany her home.

James Moore, of Wampler's Lake, was in town Thursday.

Myss Cynthia Bailey went to Tecumseh Friday to spend several days with friends.

A pickerel, three feet long and weighing eleven pounds, was speared in the Rasin river just above the middle dam by Will Sloat on Friday.

Miss Cynthia Bailey entertained a company of young ladies very pleasantly on Thursday evening in honor of her guest, Miss Edyth Corey. Progressive peanut was indulged in, after which light refreshments were served. First prize was awarded to Miss Jessie Kimble, and consolation to Miss Elizabeth Nestell.

Mrs. A. F. Freeman went to Detroit Thursday evening, where she joined her husband, and they saw Stuart Robson in "The Henrietta."
