  Gottlieb Bauerle, one of Lansing's pioneer residents, died at his home, Center street, Lansing, Sunday, after a long illness.

  Mr. Bauerle was born in Stuttgart, Germany, Aug. 13, 1834. When he was 17 years old he came to America and to Michigan, settling first in Jonesville. From there he moved to Ann Arbor, where he was married Nov. 16, 1856, to Esther Paul who died Jan. 16, 1862, leaving two sons who are now residents of Lansing. March 28, 1872, he married Christine Bissinger, who died March 10, 1873.

  In 1853 Mr. Bauerle came to Lansing where he worked at his trade of blacksmith and lived thereafter. July 27, 1873, Mr. Bauerle was married to Margaret Striter of Freedom, who, with three chicken, survive him.

  The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m., Rev. William Kramer officiating Burial at Mt Hope. He leaves two brothers, Chas. Bauerle of DeWitt and John Bauerle of Jonesville, and one sister, Caroline Haab of Freedom.

  The children who survive are: Fred Bauerle, William Bauerle, Mrs. Emma Hoeger, all of Lansing; and J. Dan Bauerle and Robert Bauerle of Cleveland.
