Manchester, Mich., March 26. - Mrs. C. W. Case and daughter Estella are visiting relatives in Ann Arbor this week.

Lillie Traub is spending the week with relatives in Sharon. 

George Hammond, who has been visiting his brother, Seymour, returned to his home near Lansing, Tuesday.

Prof. Fred Keeler, of the Mt. Pleasant schools, was in town Tuesday. He is spending his vacation with his father, M. E. Keeler, in Sharon.

The Misses Stendel and brother, of Wayne, were guests of Miss Minnie Stendel from Saturday until Tuesday. 

H. S. Warner, representing the Cleary Business College, of Ypsilanti, is in town this week introducing a system by which a thorough course in the college may be taken by correspondence.

J. M. Jones, of Tecumseh, was in town on business Tuesday.

Mrs. J. G. Leland, of Mt. Vernon, O., is visiting her mother, Mrs. Wm. Campbell.

Several days ago, our school children, on being invited to the chapel car, were given small pasteboard banks in the shape of a car and asked to save their pennies in them. Monday evening the school visited the car in a body, and after giving an interesting talk illustrated by fine stereopticon views, Mr. Dewey presented each child returning his or her bank with a nicely bound testament. Louise Adrion, of the intermediate department and Minnie Main, of the primary, having the largest number of pennies, were each given a bible.

Miss Alma Schmid visited Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Hardenburgh, in Tecumseh, Wednesday.

John Haschle celebrated his 81st birthday Tuesday. He enjoys the best of health and since the death of his wife has been keeping house for himself, which is an uncommon thing for one of his age. 

On Monday, March 31, the republicans will hold a caucus in the town clerk's office for the purpose of nominating candidates for the various township offices.

Mrs. John Haag, who has been seriously ill, is slowly recovering.
