Willis, March 24 - Born, last Sunday morning, to Mr. and Mrs. Lewis G. Miller, a little boy. Mother and child are doing nicely.

Mrs. David Russell had a stroke of paralysis last Friday night and is still in a very critical condition.

Mrs. Ada Walters and family visited at F. E. Fullington's last Sunday.

Mrs. Fred Roberts is able to be around again after quite a sick spell.

Mrs. Wm. H. Bishop and little daughter are boarding with Mrs. Wm. Johnson for the present.

An elderly man came from Detroit to this place one day last week looking for a woman by the name of Sheldon, who had been keeping house for Aaron Taylor. She had written to him to come and hold some meetings, not waiting to hear from him she went ahead and got married to a fellow after one week's acquaintance and had gone and left the old man, who claimed to be a Latter Day saint, in the soup, as he could find no other victim in Willis,  I expect he is delivering his orations in other quarters.

The Adventists of Willis had a new preacher to occupy the pulpit last Saturday.

John M. Greenman of Ypsilanti spent last Sunday with his parents in the Island district.

P. J. Finton of Ypsilanti was in this place last Saturday taking orders for the Century rural mail box of Detroit. They appear to us to be about the right thing for the business.

Mrs. Frank Hayden is with her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Faust, out at Cherry Hill.

William Druce has taken Mrs. Maria Freeman's farm one mile west of the Centennial school house in Ypsilanti town.

C.R. Greenman and sister, Jessie, attended the masquerade social at Stony Creek grange hall last week, Wednesday evening, and it was a pleasant affair in all ways.

Geo. N. Hammond s getting material on the ground for a new house.

Joseph Johnson is sick with a very bad cold.

Wm. Heral will move into the Jerome Williams farm, section 16, April 1.

Willetts Derbyshire found a valuable cow dead in his stable last Friday morning.

Edwin Collyer has moved into Edmond Derbyshire farm in Ypsilanti town.

Jack Gotts and Humphrey Elliott went to Detroit .March 17 to help celebrate St. Patrick's day in the morning. lt took them two days.

Everett Wiard and Willard Fletcher were both in this place last week deliverlng bottled foam with extract of sasafras in it.

Samuel Gibson and wife have gone to housekeeping.

Ed.Raymond is able to be at work again on the R. R. section.

Charlie Faust spent last Sunday with his mother, Mrs. Wm. Heath.

James Cosgrove is getting stone on the ground preparatory to building an addition to his house. .

James Benton celebrated his 36th birthday one week ago today.

James Blackmer is raising the roof of his house one story higher.  It is one story high now. Thomas Gotts has the job.

Charles D. Dickerson has rented Dr. Howard I. Post's house and will fix up the east part of it for a store, as he has to vacate the Potter store that he has occupied so long.

Waldo Draper and family were visiting at Henry Hammond's last Sunday.

The Willis dancing club wishes to announce that they will wind up their season's dances by giving a dance at Maccabee hall, Whittaker's on Monday evening, March 31.  A cordial invitation is extended to everyone to come :and have a good time.

Mrs. Emma Moore has moved to Ypsilanti. She will reside on West Congress street.

Henry Champion and Mrs. Charlie Hammond had a sister from Jackson visiting with them week before last.
