State Secretary of the Y. W. C. A. here

Addressed the Y. W. C. A. in the afternoon and spoke at Baptist church Sunday night.

A large audience was present at the regular vesper service of the City Young Women's Christian association Sunday afternoon, when Miss Florence Simms, state secretary of the association, gave the members a very Interesting and helpful talk, her subject being "Christ-Consider Him."

"There is only one object worthy of eternal consideration," said Miss Simms, "and that is Jesu Christ." She remarked how scientists have for years thought about and studied minor inventions and still there are some who thing of God, the Savior, Intercessor and Protector of all. It is not the immortal soul that is thought of most, but the mortal body and earthly spoils. One often sees in a thronged street hundreds of faces with  expressions of sorrow, pain, anxiety and even despair. It is because they do not realize that they can be saved by having faith in Him and belief in Him. She spoke of Christ's life and his many afflictions and sorrows, saying that if we would only compare our lives with His we would realize that we can not complain. There is no glory in complimenting ourselves on our hardships, but Christianity lies in bearing things patiently. There is never a moment that we should not consider Him. "Whatever our life is," said Miss Simms, "we should meet it bravely and not grumble." With faith in Him, the victory will at last be won.

Mrs. Thorpe sang a solo in a very delightful manner. After the address by Miss Simms, Mrs. Purfield offered the closing prayer.

At the regular service of the Baptist church Sunday evening Miss Florence Simms gave a fine address on "The Mission of Young Women's Christian Association." She gave a clear account of the work along the educational, social physical and spiritual lines. She took occasion to remark that it is a work for all classes and all conditions of women. In the past year remarkable progress has been made in the work. It is a much-needed work and at the present time, the results are gratifying and encouraging.
