Dick Flynn's class in the Methodist Sunday school has been enjoying a few days' outing at Whitmore Lake, where they stayed at one of the Stimpson cottages. The boys of "Gilmore's Band" from the same Sunday school visited them on Tuesday. In the morning they had a game of baseball which resulted after a hot, seven-inning fight, in victory for Capt. Flynn's team by a score of 17 to 10. The players then repaired to several cottages for dinner. Those of "Gilmore's Band" who ate with their opponents were served with a dinner fit for princes of royal blood.

After a short rest the two classes had an athletic meet of six events: 100-yard dash, 1/4 mile run, 1/2 mile run, mile run, putting the 20-pound shot, and the standing broad jump. The meet was won by "Gilmore's Band" by the close score of 26 to 28. The day was fine and everyone made the most of it. "Gilmore's Band" has agreed by unanimous vote that there are no more generous opponents and no better hosts than Dick Flynn's boys.
