Detroit's Gain Is Our Loss
Leslie Brown, who for several years past has sung in the choir of St. Andrew's church and has done all of the soprano solo work in the choir, has accepted a position in the choir of Christ church, Detroit.
He will begin his work in Christ church on Sunday evening, when "The Last Judgment" will be rendered, by the choir. Master Brown, who will take the soprano solo parts, is only 12 years of age, but he has one of those naturally sweet, sympathetic child voices which are so rarely found.
He has received little training outside of the choir work. where he has been under the direction of Prof. Kempf. Last season he was chosen to sing a solo part at the May Festival and he has made several appearances at concerts and church services in Toledo, Saginaw and other cities, where he has always been well received.
His going to Detroit will he a severe loss to the St. Andrew's choir. for at present he is the only member of the choir who is able to carry the soprano parts
