Some miscreant is at work destroying the new cement walks which are being put down in different parts of the city. Of late it has been noticed that as soon as a walk was laid and before the cement had time to harden someone had come along and punctured it, either with a heavy stick or large stones. In several instances it was apparent that the stones were thrown on the pavements willfully, both from their size and the force with which they must have been thrown. The walks have been so badly damaged in most cases that it has been found necessary to have parts of them relaid.

Chief of Police Warren is looking out for the vandal who, the chief says, will be severely dealt with if he is found.
