The ordinance prohibiting the placing of advertising signs on trees within the city limits was neatly put into effect Friday afternoon. As a result an agent of a yeast foam concern is minus several dollars which he paid out in the form of a fine.

It was Chief of Police Warren's vigilant eye that detected the culprit. The chief was returning to the city from Ypsilanti on a D., Y.,  A. A. & J. car when he noticed a man tacking signs on a tree not far from town. He had the car stopped and went back to where the fellow was working. When the chief explained to the man the nature of his offense he paid his fine and promised to desist from such further infringements of the law in the future.
