Dexter, Mlch., April 22; Rev. Frs. Kelly, of Ann Arbor, Goldrick of Northfield, Hennessey, of Brighton, and McLaughlin, of Manchester, assisted Rev. Fr. Ryan, of St. Joseph's church, in the closing exercises of the forty-hour devotion services on Monday.

Fred Rehm, of Detroit, visited friends in the village Sunday.

Ben Shelmire, of Detriot, manager of the Chicago Hosiery Co., was a Dexter visitor Sunday.

A. G. DeFries, foreman of the Michigan Mfg. Co., of Ann Arbor, has purchased Tom James' cottage at Base Lake.

Herman Gundert, of Ann Arbor, visited John Bross, of this village, last Monday evening.

The young ladies of St. Joseph's church will give a pedro party in the opera house Thursday evening.

Dr. Millen, of Pinckney, has opened a veterinary office in this village.

John Carmody and wife, of Detroit, spent Sunday with the latter's parents.

E. Jedele is busy these days buying wool.

Charles Thompson, a well-to-do farmer of this vicinity with numerous friends, is dead. he left here about two months ago for Montana, where he owned a half interest in a big sheep ranch. About a year ago he underwent a surgical operation in Ann Arbor, but never fully recovered. The remains will be brought to Dexter for burial. he was about 40 years of age and leaves a mother, sister and brother.
