Modern Woodmen Have Improved Their Hall - Eastern Stars Hold a Banquet

Dexter, Mich., April 18 - The Dexter creamery, which has laid idle for the past year, has been reopened by Amerman Bros., formerly of Ypsilanti. Heretofore, it hasn't been very successful financially, but the present operators are making it look a little more encouraging for their stockholders.

Miss Nellie and Master Birkett Newkirk, of Ann Arbor, are spending a few days with their grandfather, Thomas Birkett.

Henry Stierle, who has been confined to his home by sickness for the past two weeks, is able to be out again.

Supervisor Whittaker is busy making his assessments.

George Sill has let the contract for two new cottages to be built at Base Lake.

Lawyer Jones, of Ann Arbor, was a Dexter visitor yesterday.

The Eastern Star held their regular meeting last night. After the regular routine of business, the members sat down to an elegantly prepared supper.

Miss Joe Harris was called to Pontiac yesterday on account of the serious illness of her brother.

The Modern Woodmen are making extensive improvements on their hall.

Miss Anna Doane has returned from a visit with her sister, Mrs. Fred Rentschler, of Ann Arbor.

The union meeting of the three churches will be held at the opera house next Sunday Evening.

The forty hour devotion services will commence with high mass at St. Joseph's Catholic church Sunday morning.

Ed. Croarkin and wife were Ann Arbor visitors yesterday.

Alex. Dancer was in Ann Arbor yesterday.

Hon. John. V. N. Gregory, of Petoskey, arrived in town yesterday to spend a couple of weeks. John says he is getting to feel like himself again.
