BRIEF NEWS ABOUT WILLIS PEOPLE

 

Willis,  Mich.,  April 28.- Wm. H. Ostrander, of Indian River, Mich., is spending a few days here.

 

W. B. Sherman is preparing to move to this place, having bought the  house formerly owned by W. H. Ostrander.

 

Thomas O'Brien is building a kitchen addition to his hotel.

 

C. I. Dickerson is moving his family and stock of goods into the H. I. Post house. He will keep store there in the future.

George N. Hammond has got the wall laid for his new house.

Charles R. Greenman is able to be out around again after laid up for two weeks with the mumps.

Quite a number from this place attended the horse sale at Belleville last Tuesday. 

James Cosgrove is drawing the lumber for an addition to his house.

Charles Johnson is confined to the house with inflammatory rheumatism.

F. J. Fletcher & Co. have put in a new churn in their butter factory, a great improvement over the old one.

Roy Smith is working in the Willis butter factory.

Miss Cealia Burns, who has been at work in Detroit, is at home to care for her mother, who underwent a surgical operation last Tuesday.

Arthur Roberts, the hardware merchant, is getting lumber and stone on the ground with the intention of enlarging his store.

George C. Moore and W. B. Durbyshire one day last week took $25.90 worth of eggs to Ypsilanti. They were laid inside of two weeks.

Mr. Shears has been building another barn on the Carlos Childs farm.
