News Notes from Salem

Salem, Michigan, April 29. -- Mrs. James Bullock passed away Friday night at 6 o'clock after long and painful suffering from cancer.  Besides a husband, she leaves nine young children to mourn her loss.  The funeral was held from the Baptist church Monday afternoon.  The interment was in the West Salem cemetery.

JB Waterman is building an addition to his house.

John McClaren is shipping hay to Detroit.

Miss Erma Lane has returned home from Detroit, where she has been taking a course in proof-reading.

Mrs. Sarah Dibble is very sick at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dr. Walker.

The ladies' dime society of the Congregational churck will hold its next meeting with Mrs. Alice Lane, the second Thursday in May.  Everyone cordially invited.

Cards are out announcing the marriage of Miss Blanche Vanatta and Claude Bailey.

Mrs. Eliza Higgins has returned home after spending the winter with friends in the west.

Rev. and the Mrs. OM Thrasher of Northville, were callers among Salem friends the first of the week.
