Manchester, Mich., May 6.--Mervin Green, who has been spending the past two weeks at Wm. Burtless' returned to his home in Ypsilanti Monday.

Robert Merithew and Charles Burtless called on friends in Tecumseh Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Shantz, of Chelsea, spent Sunday at John Stegmiller's.

Miss Alma Schmid and Henry Kirchhofer, Jr., visited at Tobias Laubengayer's, in Scio, Sunday.

Miss Edith Kirk, of Clinton, spent a few days with relatives in town the first of the week.

Henry Jecquemain and Clarence Lehr spent Sunday in Detroit.

Misses Marie Kirchhofer Julia Schoettle and Emma Schaible went to Jackson Saturday to visit and attend the C. E. convention Sunday. About 30 members of the organization here attended.

F. M. Freeman and A. J. Waters attended the opening of court at the county seat Monday.

Miss Bertha Staiger, of Adrian, spent Sunday with her mother here.

Jenter & Rauschenberger and Wm. Lehr have new gasoline lamps in their store windows.

Mrs. J. C. Robison and children drove to Clinton Saturday and they returned Sunday accompanied by Mr. Robison, who has charge of a clothing store there.

Chas. E. Adams, of Lansing, spent Sunday with his wife, who is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Watkins at Fair View farm.

Mesdames Helliker and Meyers and Miss Clare Helliker arrived here Monday.

Chas. Younghans went to Tecumseh Monday and purchased a horse of Capt. Hayden.

Mr. Riley Short, who for many years made his home at Wilbur Short's, in Bridgewater, died in Adrian Saturday. Mr. Short and Mrs. J. A. Lynch attended the funeral on Monday.
