PITTSFIELD HAPPENINGS

Pittsfield Junction, May 21. -- Several pupils of the schools in this vicinity attended the eighth grade examination at Ann Arbor last week.

Dr. J. B. Steere has ten acres of onions up nicely, in addition to about twenty acres which other parties have in on shares on his farm.

George Klager had a colt severely bitten by a dog recently.

Samuel Morgan lost a valuable Jersey cow this week.

The recent frost damaged strawberries and garden truck considerably in this locality.

E. L. J. Smith is putting up a large amount of patent fencing on his farm.

S. Morgan visited friends in Monroe county recently.

Miss Hurd, of Saline, closes a successful term in the Sutherland district this week Friday, with a picnic and maypole celebration.
