BRIEF NEWS FROM SALEM

Salem, May 21. -- Mrs. Fred Atchinson, who has been ill the past week, is improving rapidly.

Mrs. James Vanatta, who is ill at the home of her daughter, Mrs. David Perkins, is reported no better.

Another doctor is added to the Salem list. C. S. Lane received his diploma yesterday from the Chicago College of Physicians and Surgeons. His many friends wish him success in his profession.

Mrs. James Vanatta, of Waterford, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. B. Atchison.

Mr. Harry Doan, of Shiawassee, died at the home of Andrew Johnson. The remains will be taken to his former home.

Miss Rose Roulo spent Saturday and Sunday at the home of Mrs. Henry Whipple.

Miss Ruth Munn spent Sunday at Northfield with her friend, Miss Dunham.

Memorial services will be held at the Salem Baptist church next Sunday at 3 o'clock.

Fishing is the order of the day among Salem professionals.
