NEWS NUGGETS FROM CHELSEA

Chelsea, May 17. - At the last meeting of the village council, the sidewalk committee ordered either new sidewalks or old ones repaired that in length would be nearly a mile. 

The work on the new brass foundry for the Glazier Stove company is being rushed forward very rapidly.

Thos. Sears, an old and respected resident of Lima, is quite seriously ill.

J. D. Watson has had his gasoline launch taken to Cavanaugh lake and everything is in shipshape for his summer's outing. 

The summer homes of the resorters at Cavanaugh lake have all been placed in shape for the coming camping season.

The Epworth league of Lima will give out one of their popular 15-cent suppers at the church Friday evening, May 23. After the supper a literary program will be given.

L. K. and Harrison Hadley have purchased the 147-acre farm of the late S. O. Hadley estate in Lyndon.

Ina, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Limpert, is confined to the house with the measles. 

Died, in Detroit, Friday, May 16, Gladys, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. H. Buss, former Chelsea residents. The funeral will be held from the Congregational church here today, Rev. C. S. Jones officiating. 

The freight traffic of the D., Y., A. A. & J. line at this place so far seems to be light. In fact the merchants who receive goods from out of town will continue to use the steam lines in preference to this lines unless the company lowers its rates. 

The village board at its last session paid out $1,478.34 for labor and supplies. 

The Glazier Stove Co. is having a new gas generating plant installed, which will be used in the japan department.
